Compound notes
Ovagen is a synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Leu, EDL) from the short-peptide bioregulator series developed at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It was identified by UHPLC-MS within a liver polypeptide preparation and is now produced synthetically. Despite the name, the published work on EDL concerns liver and kidney cells, not the ovary. It has the molecular formula C15H25N3O8 and a molecular weight of approximately 375.37 g/mol. Its sequence is Glu-Asp-Leu (EDL). In the published literature EDL is reported to increase proliferation and alter expression of cell-cycle regulators in cultured renal cells and to stimulate hepatocyte proliferation in rodent liver explants. Supplied as a white to off-white lyophilized powder, stored refrigerated at 2-8 C. This product is strictly for research purposes only.
